Reasonable Accommodations & Fair Housing
On this page, you will find information about what a reasonable accommodation request is, and how to make one, as well as information about the fair housing protections available to all tenants.
How to Request Reasonable Accommodations & Modifications from your Landlord
If you have a disability, you can ask your landlord to make changes so you can use and enjoy your apartment like any tenant without a disability.
Fair Housing
Fair housing means a landlord should not discriminate based on a protected class while renting. If your landlord owns 4+ units or uses a real estate broker, you're likely covered. Federal and state fair housing laws ban discrimination based on these categories: RACE, COLOR, ETHNICITY, & NATIONAL ORIGIN, DISABILITY, SEX and FAMILIAL STATUS.
